EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CREATIVE, EUROPE & ASIA
Brandon Bakshi is BMI’s Executive Director of Writer/Publisher Relations for Europe & Asia, and is based in the Company’s London office. In this role, Bakshi is responsible for overseeing and managing the engagement of new international songwriters, composers, and music publishers, while maintaining relationships with existing members.
He also oversees and manages the numerous BMI programs and events within his territory. Some of the most well-known events in which Bakshi has played an integral role include the BMI London Awards, International Song Camps at The Abbey Road Studios, as well as several programs in areas including the Caribbean and South Africa.
A twenty-four-year veteran of BMI, Bakshi began his career as an intern in BMI’s London office, then gained extensive experience that broadened his skills working in several key areas including Performing Rights and Government Relations in BMI’s New York office. Some of Bakshi’s accomplishments during his tenure at BMI include signing Daft Punk, ZAYN, Ed Sheeran, Sade, Kygo, Popcaan, Laura Marling and Ellie Goulding. He has also been a Keynote Speaker and/or moderator at the Winter Music Conference, Amsterdam Dance Event, and Music Exchange.
Bakshi received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from Richmond, the American International University, then earned his Master of Business Administration degree from Webster University. He has continued his executive education at the London Business School. Although Bakshi was born in Houston, Texas, he was raised and has spent most of his life between London and Oslo.
